Hi! I'm Rachel.
As a wife, mom, teacher, writer, editor—it's fair to say I wear many hats! Most important, I am follower of Christ and, because of that, a staunch advocate for hope. I believe our world has a lot to celebrate (even with our many flaws), and I believe we all have a part to play in making it a better and brighter place—even if just the tiniest bit!—for the ones who live in our wake.
I hope you will join me as we try to create a more hopefull world.
About A Hopefull World
A Hopefull World is born out of the many questions and curiosities I have had about how to better care for our shared planet. As a Christian, I believe everything around us has been created with a gentle hand and endowed with divine purpose. I want to aid in caring for creation—in all its forms—and I hope you will too.

A few promises . . .
1. This blog will remain hopefull in content while facing critical issues with a sense of realism and urgency.
2. This blog will focus on how to help (the solutions) with limited exploration of why to help (the problems).
3. This blog will stake its claim on hope in Christ. Whatever good we might do or share or create with our lives, I believe it's (always and only) grounded in His goodness.

More about
Rachel
I wrote my first poem—"From an Apple to a Seed"—when I was six years old. I guess you could say I've been writing in some form ever since. After college, I started a professional career centered on writing, beginning as an in-house editor for a small Christian publishing company in Nashville, Tennessee. This was my introduction to the world of creating and distributing content.
Since 2010, I have worked, primarily as a freelancer, on hundreds of projects in a variety of capacities, including as a writer, copyeditor, and proofreader. And I've worked for a variety of publishers, including HarperCollins Christian, B&H (LifeWay), Worthy (Hachette Book Group), and many more.
But writing isn't my only passion. I'm also a teacher—a high school ELA teacher in our local school district just outside of Nashville. Bridging the two worlds—and my two passions—of teaching and writing, in part, inspired everything you're reading here. I teach my students to write what they care about, to research, to find gaps, and to share their voices in ways that impact our world for the better.
A Hopefull World is my attempt to "practice what I teach" and channel my affinity for reading and writing into something that, I hope, can shape a more hope-filled world.
